EVOK Blaze 12,000 puffs

The EVOK Blaze is the device VapeVic leads with, for a reason that fits in one sentence: it carries the same count as the IGET One — 12,000 puffs — runs two thousand beyond the IGET Bar Pro, and it works out cheaper per puff than either IGET. The cell is 2300mAh and sealed, sized to carry the whole count with no port to think about, which leaves exactly one decision — which of the 16 flavours to open first.

What sets the Blaze list apart from the IGET lists next to it is temperature. Only four names carry an Ice finish; the other twelve are fruit or lolly with no menthol laid over them. People who find the IGET ranges too frosty tend to end up on this shelf, and that is the lens we have used to group the sixteen below.

The cooled four — Banana Ice, Kiwi Ice, Mango Ice and Blackberry Ice: a single fruit apiece, a cool finish, no blends. Kiwi Ice and Banana Ice have no equivalent anywhere else on VapeVic; Mango Ice reappears on the IGET Bar Pro and Blackberry Ice on both IGET devices.

Berry and pomegranate blends, uncooled — Blackberry Cherry Pomegranate, Blackberry Strawberry, Kiwi Pomegranate, Cherry Pomegranate and Raspberry Grape Mango. Pomegranate appears three times here and never with ice; on each IGET device one of its three outings is a cooled one, so the Blaze is where you come for pomegranate at room temperature.

Strawberry pairings — Strawberry Kiwi, Strawberry Lychee and Strawberry Watermelon. Read the names for what they leave out: the Ice. The IGET One and Bar Pro only carry Strawberry Kiwi and Strawberry Watermelon as Ice versions, so if you want either pairing uncooled, EVOK is the only maker on this site that bottles it that way. Strawberry Lychee is also on the IGET Bar Pro, likewise uncooled.

Lolly names — Fruity Skittles, Chuppa Chupps Strawberry and Chuppa Chupps Grape. The names tell you to expect a sweet-shop reading of the fruit rather than the fruit itself, and that is as far as we will read them. All three also appear on the 10,000-puff IGET Bar Pro; the two Chuppa Chupps entries sit on the IGET One as well.

Mint — Dynamic Mint stands alone, the one Blaze flavour with no fruit in it. The IGET Bar Pro carries the same name if you would rather commit to mint on a shorter device.

Why does VapeVic put the EVOK Blaze first?

Because on the two things most buyers weigh that can actually be checked — run length and cost per puff — it holds its own against the IGET devices: it equals the IGET One's 12,000 puffs, runs 2,000 beyond the IGET Bar Pro, and per puff it costs less than either. The CRWN Infinity is a different animal at 25,000 puffs and we make no claim that the Blaze outlasts it.

Does the EVOK Blaze need charging?

No. There is no port and no cable. The 2300mAh cell is built to carry all 12,000 puffs, and when the device stops, that is the end of it. If you specifically want something you plug in, the CRWN Infinity is the only rechargeable device we stock.

Which EVOK Blaze flavour should a first-timer pick?

If you normally like a cool finish, start among the four Ice names. If menthol puts you off, Strawberry Watermelon and Cherry Pomegranate are the simplest two-fruit names in the uncooled dozen. Either way, buy one device before a multi-pack; twelve thousand puffs is a long commitment to make on a guess.

How different is the Blaze list from the IGET One's?

Mostly in how much of it is cooled: a quarter of the 16 Blaze names, against nine of the One's 23. The two lists share five names outright — Blackberry Ice, Cherry Pomegranate, Blackberry Cherry Pomegranate, Chuppa Chupps Grape and Chuppa Chupps Strawberry — and five of the Blaze's seven exclusives have no ice in them at all.
